EASY TO TALK TO

Amanda is so easy to talk to about food and doesn’t judge you for any choices you’ve made. She is compassionate, sincere and wants to help you find a way incorporate a healthy relationship of food into your lifestyle in a way that is sustainable for the long run.

How do you typically work with people one-on-one?

This is an excellent question for a discovery call! Your food and body story is unique to you, which means you deserve equally individualized nutrition counseling.

To help you undiet your relationship with food and your body, we’ll explore the principles of intuitive eating as they relate to your health goals.

We’ll talk about how stress, symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, and body image relate to making choices about food and exercise. We’ll explore your beliefs about food, health, and your body to figure out what holds you back from feeling confident and vibrant in midlife.

My work is rooted in intuitive eating, mindfulness and stress resilience, gentle nutrition, and body respect. I’m a firm believer that all foods can have a place at your table. I also believe you have permission to eat foods that satisfy you.

This type of nutrition counseling is about so much more than “eat this, don’t eat that.” It’s about creating a healthy life-long relationship with food and your body by savoring food and your body.

I’d love to hear your food and body story! Click here and let’s chat.

Do you see people in person or virtually?

Alpine Nutrition LLC is a virtual nutrition counseling practice and online educator. I started virtual counseling with clients way back before it was COVID-cool to do so for two reasons.

First, I want my clients to feel relaxed in the comfort of their own space. And second, my life is split between two home offices in Washington and Oregon. I love living with the best of both worlds, and I love getting to work with clients throughout the Pacific Northwest.

When does the next group session start?

Savor Food and Body 6-week small group coaching sessions happen each year in April and October. Get on the wait list to be in the know when the next group is about to start.

I have a chronic health condition, is intuitive eating right for me?

Yes!

Intuitive eating is about learning your body’s needs and responding to them with gentle nutrition. This practice works very well for people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or general blood sugar concerns, elevated cholesterol and heart disease, and digestive issues such as IBS and food intolerance or sensitivities.

Please note I specialize in helping women in midlife undiet their lives and recover from disordered eating. I don’t prescribe therapeutic diets with intentional weight loss for any of my clients.

What do I need to do before my first session?

Before our first session, let’s schedule a free 20-minute discovery call so we can get to know each other better. This is an excellent way for me to understand more about your individual nutrition counseling needs and for you to get all your questions answered in real time.

How much time is each session?

Our initial session, where I get to know your food and body story more personally, is 60-75 minutes. All follow-up sessions are 50-60 minutes.

Do you offer evening and weekend sessions?

I work with clients on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am – 6 pm. Wednesdays are reserved for group coaching sessions and live Q&As.

What questions should I ask my insurance before my first session?

If you’d like to use insurance, great. I’m considered an out-of-network provider, so you’ll want to call your insurance company and ask them if you have out-of-network benefits for nutrition counseling or medical nutrition therapy.

If you have out-of-network benefits, yay! That means after you pay cash at the time of our session, you’ll be reimbursed a portion of the session fees from your insurance company. I will give you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
